Written whilst daydreaming at the piano, looking out across palm trees and constellations, Ocean Blue was born from a love of the ocean and a longing for simpler times.

Following the 4-star acclaim for her 2023 LP Down in Hollywood and her
recent honour as the recipient of the 2025 Carol Lloyd Award, Brisbane-based
retro-roots rocker Dana Gehrman delivers her next musical offering, original
EP Ocean Blue. Gehrman will release the EP exclusively on bandcamp accompanied by a digital release of the title track, Ocean Blue across all major streaming platforms.

The single, Ocean Blue continues to serve a warm, sun-drenched energy to
the EP, offering a nostalgic nod to the halcyon days of 1970s classic rock.
Reminiscent of a light, breezy outtake from records by Eagles or Jackson
Browne, the track takes a soulful approach to classic ’70s rock sounds, built on
layered acoustic guitars, catchy electric guitar harmonies, and shimmering
piano lines. Easy-going and melodic, Ocean Blue evokes imagery of sun-soaked afternoons, open-roads, palm trees, and an effortless sense of escape, balancing vintage influence with a modern, understated touch. With its driving groove and timeless sensibility, the track feels both familiar and
refreshingly current, setting a positive, uplifting tone for the wider EP

experience.

Across all four tracks, the Ocean Blue EP invites listeners into a world of easy-
going nostalgia. Confident yet carefree, the EP leans into romanticism,

drawing inspiration from the Hollywood hills, tropical beaches, and open
roads. While marking a slight sonic detour from previous releases, the EP
retains Gehrman’s signature strong, sparkling vocals and tasteful guitar lines,
now complemented by a more prominent keys-driven sound. Ocean Blue is
an exercise in tuning into the positive—warm, melodic, and effortless.

The release sees Gehrman embark on an East Coast tour this, Autumn.
Listeners who wish to hear the EP in its entirety will be able to purchase a

physical copy online or at shows.
