Following 4-star applause for her recent LP, ‘Down In Hollywood’, Brisbane based blues, rock and soul musician Dana Gehrman is thrilled to reveal her next original offering, roots-soul ballad, Let It Be You.
A nod to the halcyon days of 70’s American Roots-Rock, Let It Be You is a heartfelt ballad showcasing Gehrman’s instantly recognisable, sultry vocals and the edgy, raw, genre-bending sound Gehrman has become known for.
In celebration, Gehrman will be launching Let It Be You with a string of shows across the East Coast commencing with a performance at Brisbane’s Tivoli Theatre in support of Charlie Musselwhite (USA) before travelling to NSW to play The Citadel in Murwillumbah, Dashville Skyline festival in Hunter Valley before returning back to It’s Still A Secret in her hometown of Brisbane, QLD.
Recorded with her band of brothers across both the cosy Golden Sound Studios, a converted basement in the Brisbane suburbs and Yama-Nui studios in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, the song (originally a waltz) was conceived in 2018 and shelved, like many song ideas are, but last year was dug up and reworked into a new shape, telling the same intended tale of love and longing.
